CCLS Celebrates 60 Years of Justice at Annual “Together for Justice” Dinner

For six decades, Central California Legal Services (CCLS) has worked to ensure that low-income individuals and families throughout the Central Valley have meaningful access to justice. On October 8, 2026, members of the local legal, business, and public service communities gathered at Toca Madera Winery to celebrate this milestone at CCLS' Annual “Together for Justice” Dinner.

The evening honored individuals, organizations, and dedicated staff whose contributions reflect CCLS’ longstanding commitment to providing free civil legal assistance to those who need it most.

“Through every change, one thing has remained constant: we are a pillar of strength for low-income families in the Central Valley,” shared CCLS Executive Director Michelle Kezirian. “We adapt as our community’s needs evolve, but our mission stays the same.”

Last year alone, CCLS served nearly 20,000 individuals through direct legal services, know-your-rights education, and community outreach, helping residents access healthcare and housing, protect families and seniors, and support veterans in achieving long-term economic security.

This year’s honorees were Dr. Matthew Ari Jendian, recipient of the Trailblazer Award; Miles, Sears & Eanni, recognized as Law Firm of the Year; Valley Children’s Healthcare, honored for its Medical-Legal Partnership with CCLS; and the CCLS Health Consumer Center, recipient of the Staff Recognition Award.

Dr. Matthew Art Jendian was recognized for his commitment to strengthening communities through education, leadership, and service, reflecting the importance of civic engagement in advancing opportunities for underserved populations.

Miles, Sears & Eanni was honored for its contributions to the legal profession and support for access to justice, highlighting the essential role private attorneys and law firms play in serving the community.

Valley Children’s Healthcare was recognized for its Medical-Legal Partnership with CCLS, which helps address legal issues affecting the health and well-being of children and families. By connecting legal assistance with healthcare services, the partnership addresses challenges involving housing, public benefits, and other civil legal matters that can affect a family’s stability.

CCLS’s Health Consumer Center received the Staff Recognition Award for its dedication to helping Central Valley residents navigate complex healthcare systems and overcome legal barriers to accessing care through advocacy, education, and individual assistance.

Several special 60th anniversary videos offered guests an opportunity to reflect on CCLS’s history and lasting impact, sharing powerful stories of clients whose lives have been transformed through legal advocacy and illustrating the vital role legal services play in strengthening individuals, families, and communities.

Seated among the picturesque vineyards at Toca Madera Winery, guests enjoyed dinner, wine, live music, and a silent auction. The celebration brought together longtime supporters and new friends of CCLS, united by a shared commitment to ensuring access to justice.

CCLS extends its sincere appreciation to the generous sponsors, board members, staff, volunteers, and community partners who made this year’s event possible.

The 60th anniversary milestone celebrates CCLS’s history while recognizing the partnerships that will carry its mission forward.

We look forward to seeing you at next year’s “Together for Justice” Dinner!
